Best Boutique Hotels in the Cotswolds Countryside

Are you looking for the best boutique hotels in the Cotswolds?

As locals, we’ve learned not only what the best places to stay in the Cotswolds are, but also the best villages/ towns and what you can find in each of them. We’re constantly updating our list of places you should visit in the Cotswolds, so go here for more details.

First of all, you probably want to know which are the best towns to stay in when in the Cotswolds.

We could literally recommend every single village and you’d still be more than happy with your stay. However, it mostly depends on the places you aim to visit around. Simply pick a town for more options to eat out as well, they’re all equally beautiful.

Best places to stay in the Cotswolds for couples

Broadway Village

If you plan on visiting North Cotswolds, we recommend you should stay in Broadway Village, at least for a night. Make sure you go all the way up and all the way down High Street. So many little boutique shops and places to eat as well as some incredible Cotswolds houses which will make you reconsider your career or retirement plans.

Cirencester

If you are more of the city type and would like to stay in a larger town for the evening, then Cirencester is the best choice. It is called the “Capital of the Cotswolds” mainly because it’s the biggest town in the area. This means you have many more options for boutique hotels, places to eat, and lots of things to do.

Tetbury

Another big town with so many options on what you can do in the area. It is also a brilliant location for events you can attend in the Cotswolds. Tetbury has so many options and things you could do here, you can easily spend an entire weekend and still not see it all. Prince Charles also has a house in town, just saying.

Kingham

One of the reasons Cotswolds is also famous for is the food, being surrounded by farms and farmland. Kingham is a foodies haven so if you’re looking for exquisite food made from organic ingredients, this is the perfect place.

Bourton-on-the-Water

Another town with plenty of attractions and things to do for any age, Bourton-on-the-Water is going to charm you. It is named “Little Venice of the Cotswolds” for good reason.

Painswick

A gem of a town, Painswick is one of our favorite places to visit. It is also quite different from other villages in the Cotswolds, so it definitely deserves a visit. Plenty of ways to entertain your kids, too!

As I said, there are so many fantastic options for towns to visit and stay overnight, these are just a few of our recommendations. You should also check the smaller villages in the surrounding areas if you’re keen on a more intimate experience.

Now let’s get back to your other question- where should you stay overnight when visiting the Cotswolds?
